This is only a test...
In Google's continuing quest to take over the world, they recently came out with a system that could drastically improve our blog. Google's got connections to gmail (Google email), maps, and the super-cool Google Earth program, amongst other really cool services and tools. Did I mention that Google also owns Blogger.com, our blog host company?
"What's got Mike so excited about Google these days?", you may ask. Well, I just recently heard about Google Video, which enables shlubs like me to upload video content to Google so that it can be viewed by the masses, as long as the masses have Macromedia Flash Player 7 or newer, a free download at the link provided. Our blog host only allows us to upload pics (not video) to its server, but with Google Video, I can share the latest and greatest videos from our collection for your viewing pleasure. This is a major plus, because we have family members and friends Stateside that will really appreciate it. The only negative for me is that now I'll have to carry my old Sony point-and-shoot camera around with me more to capture videos, since the Canon just takes photos.
So here's my first test. Followed immediately by my second test.

Love it. How cute. I must have the Flash Player on my computer already, because I just clicked on the links to Josh's "concerts" and they played on the computer.

Nice! I've often used Google Video to find downloads (since we're limited with AFN television here on some newscasts) but never considered using it to convey video as well! Great piece of info.!

I've already used Google Video to upload my buddy Matt (who will be joining me at Waseda) karaokeing "Sister Christian."
I'd link it but every time I try to play the link it kicks me back to my google log in page. I'll figure it out tomorrow.
I have a DVD videocam that is definitely coming with me. So work out all these kinks so I don't have to deal with them. :)
BTW, when I click your links it does the same thing as I mention above.

I'm just astonished and amazed that Josh can sing the ABCs!! That is so impressive.
Thanks for the compliments on the videos, everyone! I'm really excited about adding the video realm to our blog. There are quite a few in-motion sights and sounds here that just don't get conveyed well in still photos.
Jeff D, not sure what the deal is with Google Video. When I first tried to upload the video, I had some troubles too. Now, it's working fine for me. Maybe it's the "beta version" factor coming through... that there's still a few bugs they're sifting through over there.
Josh is adorable of course--keep the videos coming--we also were able to just click on the video. Keep up the good singing Josh--Love, Grammy
