Date Night at Mike's

Once a week, Nicki and I like to go out on a date night sans Josh. While we're out cruising the town for a couple of hours, Josh gets to party it up with his favorite babysitter. This week, we went out with some friends, Bridget and Bob, to eat at a new Mexican restaurant in "the Honch" area of Yokosuka - which is right across the street from main gate. If you haven't been to Mike's yet, we highly recommend it. Best Mexican we've had in mainland Japan.

Hilarious Sign on the Staircase Leading to Mike's
(and eerily similar to our SOFA with Japan)

I hope you guys had a fun date night- what did you guys have from Mike's? Any recommendations?

The sign on the staircase is really funny and a sad commentary simultaneously. In my almost 3 years in Japan I've been to "The Honch" only 2 times, and both during the daylight hours. Given that the area has been the source of so many liberty and alcohol related incidences for various Yokosuka personnel I've really been turned off to it. It is great to finally hear something positive coming from that area for a change!!

My husband loved tacos at the "Buffalo" out on the honch. Is it still there? How about the Honeybee right across from the main gate?
