Flat Soda

The weather is finally starting to warm up so we've been spending most of our time outside. Joshua will spend an average of 2 hours a day playing at the playground and maybe more if he can. Tonight Mike gave him a great scrub down in the tub. After all his labor what was left were some scuffs, bruises, freckles, mosquito bites, and the reassuring feeling that under all that dirt, we had brought home the right kid from the playground.

Things in our life have been going well but, for some reason our blog has gone flat like a bottle of soda pop that been shaken up. In the beginning we were full of fizz just bubbling over about our experiences. However, lately our fizz has run out. Any ideas readers?

Tell us about your new home. You guys moved to the "gated community" but haven't told us much about it. I hope you are still heading off base for outings and fun!

I haven't noticed the blog missing anything, but I would also like to hear more about your move onto the base and the differences your lifestyle.
Do you miss the challenge of living in Japan as everything is there for you in English on the base?

I agree with the others. How about a little about your Move, and New House.
How about the Diffrences of living off VS on base.

I remember when we moved on base in Sasebo, our lives just Slowed Alot... and we were spending a bunch more time on base.
(of course we just had a baby too!)

Personally i would love to see some pictures of the base, and such.
This is because we got orders! Were headed to Yokosuka in the Fall! (Sept/Oct time frame).
We are very excited of course...

We love your blog! It's going to be a Great Resource! Thank you all for putting it together!

Hi Mike and Nicki,

I am still reading your blog all the time (just not commenting much) I agree with the comments we would love to hear more about your life on the base. Also any random side trips that you have (surely you don't spend all your time on the base). And pictures incorporated into the blog (I don't go to the photo gallery much).

It's not you, it's everyone. Bloggers come and go and you get less comments and then they come back again. Sometimes you just need a break to get creative juices flowing. But you blog is great - very inspirational.

Just wanted to give you a little encouragement- your blog is great! I'm glad things have been going well for you guys since moving on base! I'm in my last month here in Japan and can't believe Guam is finally almost here! I'll surely stay on as a blog reader to see what is happening here in Japan!

btw- if you are looking for something fun to do this weekend- the Yokohama International School is having their annual food fair on Sunday from 10am-4pm. It is fun for the whole family and if you like International foods at an affordable price- check it out!

I think it's natural to feel that wasy. Everything was new when you arrived in Japan, two and a half years later what was once new is now routine and you might think it's not worth mentioning.

I'd say try to keep an eye out for the things that are different in Japan. I always like to paraphrase Vincent Vega and say that in Japan there were a lot of things that were "just a little different."
