The Boy who Turned Three
As many of our readers may have noticed, we love to brag about our son, Josh. Well this entry is no different. Our little prince will officially be turning three on the 23rd, but this past weekend we had his super-duper swimming pool party. We had two inflatable pools in the backyard. I made a "Sand" cake along with homemade ice cream, and ice cream sandwiches. Mike "manned" the grill and produced some awesome hamburgers and hotdogs. There were also loads and loads of Chu-hi and Beer to go around. (Don't worry mom, we didn't give to much to the kids! There were also lots of sodas, juice and water.) My guacamole was a pretty big hit too. We had a great crowd and lots of kiddies. Josh made out like a bandit with all of the presents he received. Check out the fantastic photos that we took in our gallery.

The party looks like it was a big hit. That cake is really neat, and all the food yummy, good job guys. So sorry we missed it.
Happy Birthday Osh, wuv Leah
So how did you do the sand cake? I can't believe he is 3. What a big boy!!
Happy Birthday, big guy! We hope you enjoyed your day with Mom and Dad!
The Sand cake was totally easy. Just baked 2 sheet cakes, cut the cake into cubes, Layered cake, chocolate pudding, cake, vanilla pudding than ground graham crackers. It turned out pretty neat. I got the recipe from familyfun.com here's the link http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=50172
Happy Birthday, Josh! I wish I could have been there to help celebrate! Your cake looks wonderful and the photos in the gallery are so cute! 3 years old- he's getting so big!!
He is getting too big! He's a little boy now darn it. Big boy bed, potty chair, big boy carseat, sheesh.....
Looks like he was saving some chocolate frosting for later. Smart kid.
I'm off to Bangkok tomorrow. Once I get settled in Tokyo we will have to meet up. My friends at Keio will be living near or in Kawasaki which they tell me is in your general directions.
See you in Tokyo!
Jeff
No worries, I could totally understand that. All parents are proud of their kids. If I have a kid like yours, I would brag about him day and night.
Jeff D, have fun in Thailand. We'll definitely have to meet up when you get settled in over here. Kawasaki is closer to us than Tokyo, but only by a few kilometers... either way, we'll definitely figure it out once you're settled in. Tokyo's not that far for us anyway, and I'm sure that you'll want to see Kamakura and some of the other sites down here sometime, too.
tin180, thanks for posting and for the compliments to Josh...
-Mike
